Bob Rennie has been selling real estate for over 25 years and has built an extensive resume of achievements. At the young age of 19, he began working for Bus Norman in a real estate office in East Vancouver. By 1988, Bob branched out on his own and started Rennie and Associates Realty. Under his guidance, his firm of over 90 realtors developed a strong presence in the market and became a household name in the community.

Building his experience in project marketing and eventually becoming the city’s top project marketer, Bob is now the principal and director of Rennie Marketing Systems. Every year, Bob has maintained his presence as one of the top marketers in Canada including the title for Top Sales in Dollar Volume and Units Sold from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver for 2003.

Bob is a very committed contributor to many charities, most notably the Vancouver Children’s Hospital, Burnaby Hospital and the fine arts community. This year, Bob was honored with the Queen’s Jubilee Award recognizing his devotion to special causes and excellent achievement in real estate marketing.

Dear Mr. Rennie,

On behalf of the British Columbia Institute of Technology, thank you for your generous Challenge Champion gift of $20,000 to the BCIT Commit to Excellence Alumni Appeal.

BCIT alumni can leverage their giving through the power of your matching gift to double their support for student scholarships, bursaries and awards, the Library, and BCIT programs across the campus.

Thanks to your generosity, our current students receive much-needed financial support and recognition for their achievements. Many, in turn, feel the desire to give back in whatever way they can in the future.

We value our relationship with you, Mr. Rennie. You have served on the Program Advisory Committee for BCIT's Real Estate program since its inception and your company, Rennie Marketing Systems, is an employer of our grads. Your Challenge Champion matching gift has successfully launched this year’s alumni campaign.
Thank you for your ongoing support and your commitment to excellence at BCIT.

Yours truly,

Laurie Clarke

Rennie Marketing Systems has been involved in various community and charity activities throughout the years. One of the prime beneficiaries is the Burnaby Association for the Mentally Handicapped, which has received funding as a result of six annual luncheons, where suffucient funds have been raised each year to buy one van.

At each of the six luncheons, donors attended, while Rennie Marketing Systems paid for all costs. Each attendee then donated $100 (100% of which was put towards the purchase of a van); in return, each donor's name was then painted on the side of the van.

Rennie Marketing Systems has also become involved with local school district programs, both at secondary and post secondary levels, which offer students a chance to participate in work experience programs throughout the year. Another yearly event is The Bacchanalian Wine Festival, which is held each September and features wineries from all over North America.

In addition, Bob Rennie makes himself available to speak to different educational and business groups and tours, both within and visiting the Vancouver area. These include the Urban Development Institute in Vancouver and Kelowna, The Downtown Vancouver Association, UBC China Open Cities Tour, as well as Ozzie Jurock's Conference.

In 1996, Rennie Marketing Systems created the "Suite of Dreams at Wall Centre" which benefitted British Columbia's Children's Hospital Foundation, United Way of the Lower Mainland, and St. Paul's Hospital. This unique and exciting event proved the power of good teamwork, since it involved careful collaboration between numerous members of the design, real estate, and architectural communities.

Rennie Marketing Systems' work continues with the British Columbia's Children's Hospital Foundation through participation in their annual telethons.

Interest in the arts has been key to the many donations made by Rennie Marketing Systems to the art collections at the Vancouver Art Gallery, University of British Columbia Belkin Gallery, University of British Columbia Contemporary Art Society, Emily Carr College of Art & Design, and the National Gallery of Canada.
